El Mandado is a ritual of the everyday — the trips to the corner store, the liquor store, the local vendor, picking up food, moments with family, and runs to grab medicine or offerings for the altar. It’s about the rhythm of these small errands and the quiet magic found in them.
El Mandado Zine is created from photos taken in moments of connection, clarity, and gratitude — capturing the energy that flows through our everyday movements of gathering what we need. It’s a reflection on the beauty found in simple acts — a quick trip to the store, picking up food, visiting a vendor, or collecting offerings for the altar — moments that remind us how care, culture, and spirit live in the day-to-day.
This body of work brings together photos through riso prints, and a zine that honor those acts of care, magic, and tradition. Alongside it is El Mandadito, a small botanical kit featuring a matchbox, sage bundle, and El Mercado Zine — the sage bundles gathered from local vendors, community gardens, foraged spaces, and even Trader Joe’s. A reminder to slow down, give thanks, and tend to what keeps us grounded.
